Home is no longer alone.
Yup, the whole family is back. Mum and sis decided to cut short their trip as my sister's skin problems were aggravated by the hot and dry weather in India. Despite the painful scratching and the rash outbreak, I think my sis was more pleased to leave India and be back in Singapore. Heh, further reinforces my stand that I do not want to visit India. So the freedom of cooking my own meals and living my own life has once again ended, and so did the dishwashing.
The semester is still flying by and the exams are coming soon. Projects, presentations, reports loom above me and yet I still found a free Sunday night to catch the Lion King in MBS. It was a lively production. Full of colour, laughter and amazing voices. Having watched the motion picture eons ago, it was a nice refresher to a well-loved story. Timon and Pumba combined many local elements in their script and brought the story to the audience.
Lion King reminded me of Phantom in some ways. Despite the differences, I still prefer Phantom. Phantom might not be as funny, nor was it as colourful, but Phantom appeals to the senses by touching on a totally different emotion. Phantom makes you root for the underdog and brings you through the painful journey between the fine line of love and hate. I take nothing away from the Lion King, but Phantom set too high a bar. Come December, let's see how Wicked fares.
