All my life I've been against having kids. Always thought it'll be a pain.
I mean, really. Here's being honest. I'm one pain of a child. I won't really blame my parents if they agree with me. I'm demanding, difficult, stubborn, expensive and for the lack of stronger words, annoying. I look around and I see all the money my parents spend to try to make me happy, and I realise if only they didn't have me in the first place, they'll be able to spend the money buying everything else they wanted. Well, I've said all the above to my parents before, and no surprise, they totally denied it and said they don't mind. Politically correct answer huh?
That's what I thought. But hey, somehow it seems different now. And no, it's not because of the pro-family advertisements the government has been churning out, nor due to baby bonus/ tax incentives etc etc. Simply, it's because of Modern Family.
In 20 minutes, it shows the joy of being a family. And for me, it's the joy of having kids around the house. The difference between all 5 kids in the show. Well, Lily doesn't do much... but the 3 and Manny! How they annoy their parents, all the things they do that only kids can pull off, how they drive you up the wall and yet make you melt... gosh! The main family is really hilarious. The husband is a big joke, the wife is really a mother and the kids are monkeys!
Really, that's one nice family. And now, I think a family is considered complete with kids! Sadly, Singapore makes it an economic challenge. ):
That ALL said, I'm happy with the family. BUT extended family that includes uncles/aunts/cousins/nieces/nephews etc etc. Still a big NO NO. Hmph! So far, that has shown me it can be more trouble than it's worth.
