Tuesday was the first time I took the MRT to the airport to send my cousin off to Australia again. I'm actually quite impressed with the speed of the MRT from Tanah Merah all the way to the airport! It was fast and brings you right to the heart of Terminal 3. So much for my ez-link card ditching plans right after I got my photocard license. Farewel to my cousin for the next week as he heads back to wrap up his flight training. Then the big news! On the way back on the highway, my car suddenly slowed down and there was this sickening dead rubber sound coming from the left side of the car. Stopping by the road shoulder, me and my dad was shocked to actually find that the left-back tyre was flat! Needless to say my mum and sister were shocked spectators, who were providing live commentary on the cars that went past on the road. Almost 45 minutes later, with the help of the car manual, a jack, countless tools, sweat and brute strength, dad and I changed the tyres. My gosh, it was rather back breaking. On the way back, my mum kept on commenting on how she didn't trust the spare tyre and demanded that I drove home slowly. I ended up travelling home at an average speed of 30km/h. Even a cyclist overtook me at some point. Gosh.
Wednesday was the awesome home mass @ the Leongs. It was really a serene retreat at the corner of Upper East Coast Road. Mass with Fr Val and the choir was just so peaceful. It was enjoyable, relaxing and peaceful. A far cry from the daily experiences at work. Dinner was a noisy affair with Pris, Jon, Darryl and Alvin. Loads of laughter and alot of teasing here and there. It was such a pity that the whole thing had to end, I wonder why time flies so quickly when you're having a good time. It seems to crawl and to the extent that it feels as though it's a stand still when you're doing guard duty.
Tomorrow... C'mon, let the weekends come. I'm starting to see Christmas already... (:
