The weekend. The previous weekends were awesome, but this weekend was definitely the one that brought along the biggest sigh of relief. Week started rather fine, but it ended on a really sour note. It was like the seemingly innocuous Clementi Camp suddenly bursting out in flames and evolving into a place that fits the description of hell. Spontaneous combustion at it's very best I daresay, since I'm foolishly assuming that no one is the cause of it. Right... It's really quite disturbing to see all the office politics and personal conflicts being tangled into one entire mess. Actually, disturbing is too mild a word, to put it blatantly, it just sucks. I guess I should stop there, I don't really wish to start dragging names here...
Church on Saturday was like a haven. Driving into church felt as though I entered a cloak of surreal peace and serenity. All the week's troubles simply left at is gates, the smiling face of Jon Lim simply summed up the mood. Lunch followed by Camp Comm meeting. It's so encouraging to learn that not everything in the world is as messed as up as the organisation that I'm part of, a place where rank and heirarchy are the two determinents of decision making. Mass was not the best, but nevertheless it didn't take any shine off it. Prac again, followed by dinner was a good way to end the day. Pity I couldn't see Justin Pang off though, nor was I able to meet Willis as I figured it was too late.
And so now it's Sunday, which I'm more than willing to just laze away. Tomorrow's Deepavali with a visit to the grandparents and relatives as my family doesn't celebrate it. Well, the public holiday is just a one day buffer before I return to that hot cauldron and fight fire after fire.
Till then, the I shall make peace with the world and myself.
