And so the 5 day break flashes past without hitting the brakes, here I am patiently awaiting my weekly pilgrimage to Pasir Ris MRT where the bus would once again begin my journey back to The Island. I'm going to get confined again for the next 2 weeks. Field Camp would stretch over the next weekend and I would have my range as well. The 2 things in BMT that I would have to clear if I plan to see the last of Tekong on the 12th of March.
Naturally I'm not looking forward to getting confined all over again. But I guess I don't have much of a choice about it anyway. Field camp's gonna be the suck according to everyone out there, and I don't expect it to be any lesser than that. It's rather painful to leave behind all these comforts here waiting, and also go there knowing that all the comforts exists a boat ride away. Army really tells you how fortunate you really are on this little red dot.
5 days. Visiting, goodies and the famous red packet. The 3 aspects of CNY that I never get tired of. Being non-chinese I guess I had plenty of time to myself. Sleep, Heroes and just basically trawling through my Hard Disk and finding random pictures, poems, vestiges of the past... That's when I found the picture that I posted above. I wasn't the photographer, but that beautiful picture was sent to me 2 years ago by its beautiful owner. To many of you out there, it's just a well-taken picture of Singapore's skyline. But to me, it's beauty alone is good enough a reason why I should be defending this country.
...Yeah, and also because this boy needs the place for his urban kicks after a week in rural Tekong.
