Career Day briefing in school. We were supposed to choose which talks and exhibitions we would be most interested in. Well, before that Brother Paul ran through the different career talks that would be showcased and gave a quick run through of the requirements. Even though every teacher since Primary 5 has been telling me I have a special aptitude for Law, I didn't register for the talk regarding that career option. I guess Bro. Paul was right, I have to be realistic. The grades that I got for my Mids would only allow me to pursue an ITE course should I replicate that exact score for my As. We told to make 3 choices and to rank them according to our preferance. My final choice was something like this:
1) Mindef
2) Journalism
3) Teaching
I would have preferred HR to be on that list, but since it was not there, teaching would be the next best choice. There's no way I am going into Life Sciences or Business as I don't have an ounce of interest in any of them. I really wish there was a talk on HR. It's the only profession that I have seriously considered other than a career in the Army. Journalism, I put it down as I would like to find out more about the job. I'm quite sure it's not all about writing an article or penning down a weekly column.
In the University Talk list, I only had 1 choice in mind. But since I had to rank 3....
1) NUS FASS
2) NTU Engineering
3) SMU Business
Why couldn't SMU hold a talk on Political Sciences!
Urgh, we'll see how it goes. August 1st I think?
