holla

7.01am.
Started the day early with a trip to Times @ Terminal 1. It's the best place to get the Harry Potter book if you ask me. No crowds nor queues. Took me less than a minute to walk in, buy the book and walk out of the shop. Nevermind all those freebies if I had placed a Pre-Order. I'm only interested in the book. Came home armed with Mcdonald's breakfast and dived headlong into the book.
I didn't put the book down till I finished it.
The book has really lived up to its hype. Well, one thing however is puzzling. It's a children's book. If I was 10 years younger, I doubt I would understand a single thing. The story line is really good, and to a certain extent, puzzling... for young readers especially. Seasoned readers like me however, just benefit more from such a storyline. The book definately is the darkest in the entire series. You could count the number of jokes in the entire book with your fingers. Even something as glorious as a wedding could be so dark.
The deaths however were really disturbing. Muggle Studies Teacher, the Minister, Krum's wand maker, many many others perish as the story unfolds. The moment Lupin named Harry as his son's godfather, I knew Tonks and him were slated to die. It's those kind of things that you would grow to forsee after reading 6 HP books previously. Lupin did a la James, this time to Harry instead of Sirius. The death that really bothered me the most was the death of Fred Weasley. I seriously see no reason for Rowling to kill the poor boy off. It does nothing to alter the subsequent ending. That guy has been giving us many laughs over 6 books, and he dies this way. NO WAY PLEASE. I was seriously upset at his death, and I refused to believe it till the very end. Why must he die?
So... I guess that is the end of the Harry Potter series. 7 books. 7 books that have given me immense pleasure since I started reading them in Primary 4. I'll miss waiting for the books to come out. The seventh book gave me something concrete to look forward to this 2007, and now, that has come and gone. 2007 suddenly got worst.
Thank You Miss Rowling.
We might have made you a billionaire. But I guess the joy we have reaped from this 7 books is something that's simply... magical.
I hope PTM in school was fun for my classmates.
