holla
You know those times where life seems so bleak?
Where you just sit down and drown yourself in the wonderful memories of yesterday.
I've been doing quite alot of that lately. School is really a worry. I've never felt worst in my entire life. I've grown accustomed to the fact that I'll never be a part of the CJ community. But instead, I've begun to appreciate the little things in CJ that keep me ticking. The precious few people that I know, the gym and most importantly, the final bell of the day.
Yet, I can't help but look past all these and just soak myself in those VS days. 4 years, during which I grew more than my other 14 years of life put together. I used to tell people that if I die now, my only regret would be that I am dying a virgin. Jokes aside, I would honestly say that I'll die contented that I wore the crimson badge for 4 of the best years of my life.
I'll Miss...
*the days in Geylang Bahru where we'll sprint to the canteen to the Western Food stall.
*being able to take fries from anybody and knowing they won't mind
*the wonderful street soccer cum basketball court where many brotherhoods were forged.
*the beehive outside my sec2 classroom which we used to attack with almost anything we found.
*the timbre store where we spent all our mornings crapping.
*denting the fan during my sec2 year.
*singing the Victorian Anthem in the rain.
*the Victorian Challenge @ East Coast Park.
*doing the VS cheers to celebrate victories that came in free flow.
*marching, doing push ups, sit ups, and getting screamed at.
*the seabreeze at Siglap Link
*morning assembly overlooking the Eastern part of Singapore
*Mr Chia for lighting up the entire school.
*the NPCC room for all the unspeakable thrash we did inside
*the campcraft grounds and all the sweat, blood and tears.
*blessing the water cooler.
*making off with signs from the school.
*messing with the extinguishers.
*burning up notes prior to our O level examinations.
*floorball soccer at the back of the class.
*YCP and the gang fight video.
*exploring the roof of the school in the wee hours of the morning.
*greeting ester teo for about 10 whole minutes so as to waste time.
*continuously singing in ester teo's class to disrupt her lessons.
*stripping pak kiu in the corridor
*flagpole-ing him in the parade square
*Chia falling into the pond
*every single class that I belonged to
...
I can go on forever, 4 years of memories that could last me a lifetime.
I know I'll miss those times, but I guess it's more ept to treasure those times.
Whenever I see the NS ad which asks,
"Remember your first friends turned brothers?"
I'll remember just one place...
Thy Sons Are We.
